IPPIS : Administrative Bottle Neck Causes Brain Drain In Gusau Varsity – Lecturer

The Head of Economic Department Federal University Gusau (FUG), Dr. Mustapha Kanoma blame IPPIS other administrative bottle neck for brain drain in the university, and calls for recruitment.

Kanoma made disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Gusau, adding that the last time that university had a recruitment was in 2019 and some many lecturers had left for other engagement due to poor package among other reasons.

He said lecturers were over loaded as one can teach between three and four courses against two per head.

Adding that the university was constraint by the administrative bottle neck surrounding the recruitment exercise in the country, the university had to secured approval from so many different bodies of the federal government and the national assembly before single appointment.

He said currently the economic department had only twelve lecturer, and five out of them were on study leave, the seven were to managed the whole department and now that post graduate school come up the same people would handle academic activities.

While calling on government to embarked on massive recruitment, he equally appeal for the improvement of Lecturers welfare to control rate of exit from the university
