Director Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) Professor Muhammad Faguji Ishiyaku has appealed to Nigerian journalists to consider and promote Nigerian researches for economic growth.
He made the appeal in his address during a TELA MAIZE Project “Seeing Is Believing” held at IAR Research Farm at Minjibir, Kano State.
Professor Faguji Ishiyaku was disturbed with the kind of news that is not favourable to Nigerian Researches efforts in turning the country to be among the best in research and development.
The Director further warned that no amount of money one gets in order to destroy his country is greater than progress.
He lamented that some Nigerian journalists choose to abandon their fatherland which they ought to be proud of.
Professor Muhammad Faguji Ishiyaku said no research development can be achieved without an input of media and for that, all hands must be on deck to make Nigeria great in the area of research.
He implored media organizations in Nigeria to be patriotic on issues concerning research as the country is blessed with a lot of potential and talented scientists and researchers.
