The Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris has joined his counterparts of North-Western Nigeria to launch Zamfara State Community Protection Guards in Gusaus.
The protection guards, initiated by Zamfara State Government was meant to complement the efforts of security agencies by beefing up security of lives and property of Zamfara people.
The screened agile youths, passing out on Wednesday were trained by security personnel on rudiments of security operation as well as ways to restore lasting peace across the state.
Other governors in attendance include; Governors of Sokoto, Dr Ahmad Aliyu, Katsina, Dr Dikko Umar-Radda, Jigawa, Alhaji Umar Namadi and Kaduna Sen. Uba Sani, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
On the part of Kebbi Gov’s entourage are; the Secretary to Kebbi State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Umar-Dutsinmari, Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, Hon. Sama’ila Yakubu-Augie, APC state Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, Accountant General Alhaji Bello Naliku Aminu Zurumawa, Alhaji Ibrahim A. I Suru, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, SA Special Duties, and Chairman Birnin Kebbi and Danko Wasagu Local Governments among others.
