The Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) has suspended its national coordinator, Alhaji Danladi Pasali, over alleged abuse of office.

Accordingly, the group announced the appointment of Mallam Gidado Ibrahim as the new national coordinator. Until his appointment, Ibrahim was the director of communications and strategic planning of the BCO.

A letter by the BCO dated September 17, 2020, noted that the suspension of the former national coordinator, Pasali and subsequent appointment of Ibrahim followed myriad of allegations of corruption, high-handedness and breach of agreement signed with the organisation when he was appointed on 17 May 2017.

The group alleged that the suspended national coordinator, Pasali, breached his code of office by engaging himself in extortion of money from unsuspecting members of the public in the name of the organisation.

BCO categorically denied any insinuation of the organisation collecting money from individuals and group or public office holders to finance its activities.

It also announced the nullification of all appointments made by Pasali without consulting the chairman of the board of trustees.

The letter stated: “Alhaji Pasali’s one-man show forced many important members of the organisation to resign. He was also accused of unilaterally issuing appointment to people without consulting the Chairman of Board of trustee and executive members.

“Mr Pasali was in the habit of diverting the activities of the organisation to other locations, and failed as the National Coordinator to update the rent of facility housing the BCO office, hence causing the organisation embarrassment from the harassment by the landlord of the facility. A copy of the notice of expiration of the office rent is attached to the statement. What is more annoying than the flagrant refusal of Alhaji Pasali to pay utility bills of the office and allowances to Police Officers attached to the organisation”.

The organisation bemoaned the lackadaisical attitude of Pasali who it said consistently failed to support the law suit slammed on blackmailers of the Buhari administration and family.

BCO cited the resignation of its deputy national coordinator (North & Diaspora), Ambassador Hussaini H Coomassie, who resigned due to what he termed neglect and unconstitutional means of doing things by Pasali.

The organisation noted that it is pained by Coomassie’s resignation because he was a grassroots member of the BCO.

In an interview, Commassie had complained that though many of the members sacrificed a lot in making sure President Buhari is returned as president, only few of them sacrificed time, energy and finance in prosecuting the agenda.

The letter announcing the changes was also copied President Buhari; Abdullahi Maikano, A.O Presidential Villa; Director General of DSS; Inspector of Police; Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Director General Nigerian, Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA); the Nigeria Police Force, FCT Command, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), APC Caretaker Chairman.
