Wife of the Bauchi state governor, Dr. A’isha Bala Mohammed has debunked reports in the social media platforms which portrayed her in bad faith as regard the economic empowerment program she recently unveiled with women and youth of Futuk community in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

The recent social media reports and posts have singled out sachets of water, among the various economic empowerment materials the Bauchi First Lady distributed to the Futuk community in Alkaleri in a bid to disgrace her in the good eyes of the general public.

Dr. A’isha Bala Mohammed while debunking the concocted social media reports through her press secretary, Hajiya Murjanatu Musa Maidawa, said that the economic empowerment packages distributed to the Futuk community are chiefly Spaghetti making machines, Flour and money as starters for the beneficiaries to become self-reliance.

The Bauchi First Lady’s economic empowerment package for the Futuk community, explained the release signed by the press secretary, was the training of 250 women and youth in various skills such as in sewing machines, grinding machines, knitting machines and salon equipment, depending on the nature of training they received and their preferences.

The wife of the governor recalled that in the 13 years of her pet project ‘Almuhibbah Foundation’, she never at any point in time conducted any training or donated any kind of economic empowerment package to any set of beneficiaries without consulting them on their needs in line with the particular skill (s) they acquired.

“As a mother who is passionate about uplifting thev living standard of disadvantaged and vulnerable youth in the society, the first lady despite the mischievous criticism, will not relent in this noble path”, the press release stated.

A’isha said that ordinarily, she would not have responded to such misleading reports and comments on social media platforms because of the believe that generality of women and vulnerable in Bauchi state are well acquainted with the humanitarian efforts of Almuhibbah Foundation.

The First lady said however that she chose to respond to the negative reports to clear the air for other citizens who may be misled into believing that bags of sachet water was all that she presented to the beneficiaries of her empowerment program in Futuk.

She wondered why the online medium mischievously ignored all the other items, and singled out bags of sachet water in order to satisfy the wishes of their pay masters whose stock in trade is to mislead the gullible and create unnecessary controversies.

The press statement considered such misleading reports and posts on social media platforms as part of a grand design to distract the first lady and by extension the present administration in Bauchi state from fulfilling its social contract with the electorate who massively voted Kauran Bauchi, a man they trust to pilot Bauchi state to the promised land.
