Super Falcons Arrive Nigeria After World Cup Exit

The Super Falcons are back in the country following their exit from the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Randy Waldrum’s side were eliminated from the competition following a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat to the Three Lionesses of England on Monday.
The thrilling encounter had ended in a 0-0 draw after regulation and extra time.
Some members of the team, including Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Osinachi, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Gift Monday and Rofiat Imuran arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Wednesday night.
They were received on arrival at the airport by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board member, Fatai Majekodunmi, Chairman of Lagos Football Association, Fouad Oki, and other top dignitaries.
It would be recalled that head coach of the team, Randy Waldrum, left Australia a few hours after the team’s exit from the World Cup.
Players, who left with the 66-year-old to the United States of America were Michelle Alozie, Jennifer Echegini, Esther Okoronkwo, Ifeoma Onumonu, Deborah Abiodun and Toni Payne.
