Zamfara Insecurity: Repentant Bandits Surrender Firearms to Govt.

Repentant bandits in Zamfara state have surrendered various categories of firearms to the government.

This is coming at a time construction of the isolation centre for infectious diseases there has reached advanced stage.

Among the surrendered firearms is a General Purpose Machine Gun, one AK 47, and three FN rifles.

But the state governor, Bello Matawalle says troops keeping the peace there have also achieved a feat.

They have according to him captured fourteen AK 47 rifles, an Improvised Explosive Device and cache of ammunition.

The Zamfara state governor notes that safety of lives and property of his subjects would remain a top priority.

Bello Matawale however urges citizens to ensure they adhere to all measures against the coronavirus pandemic.

The charge came as he inspected the isolation centre for infectious diseases in the state.

He also wants them to stay home, and be safe.
