The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the purported suspension of its state chairman, Hon. Tukur Danfulani, is null and void.
The state chapter, in a statement issued by the party’s spokesman, Yusuf Idris said, the State Working Committee, and the State Executives didn’t suspend the chairman, adding that nothing of that nature happened.
On Saturday, the ward executive led by its deputy chairman, Garba Bello, and 15 others, declared the sack of the state chairman for alleged lack of good leadership, and discrimination against party members who violate the laws of the APC.
He was also accused of diverting the activities of the party to some people who were not the leaders of the APC in Zamfara State.
But responding yesterday, the party said it is aware of this type of antics of some politicians who plan to destroy the party in order to float a new party for the 2027 elections.
The party added that those behind the plot are trying to create problems in the APC as is being done in Kano State and many state chapters.
“It should also be noted that even if some members have grudges against the chairman, there are constitutional channels and laid down rules and regulations of addressing such grievances that were not followed and therefore invalidate the suspension.
“Moreso, all the claims raised by the discontented persons are baseless and unfounded, created to destabilise the unity being enjoyed within the party leadership and members at all levels
“We also wish to draw the attention of newsmen and media organisations against rushing to press without verifying issues of this magnitude with the party headquarters in the state, especially when we have cordial working relationships developed through our open door policy,” the statement said.
The statement said the purported suspension was written on a paper that bears no APC logo nor the letter head of Galadima ward.
It however added that machinery has been set in motion to investigate those behind the purported suspension in order to maintain peace, law, and order in the party.
