Mallam Gambo Yakubu Umaru, a traditional title holder in Nasarawa State, has assured Lafia emirate Council and the state at large of his continued contribution to the development of the emirate council and the state at large.
Yakubu Umaru, who is the Santali Lafia gave the assurance while addressing newsmen in Lafia.
He said that he would continue to contribute his quota in the area of peace promotion, youths and women empowerment and infrastructural development among others for improved standard of living of the people of the state.
Yakubu Umaru, who is also the Dan Madamin Azara appreciated the Emir of Lafia, Rtd Justice Sidi Bage for finding him worthy as Santali Lafia while assuring of his unflinching support to the emirate council for development to thrive.
” First and foremost, I want to thank the Emir of Lafia, Rtd Justice Sidi Bage for appointing me as Santali Lafia and in Sha Allah, I will reposed the confidence he and his people have in me.
” I will continue to support the emirate Council to succeed by contributing my quota positively to the development of the emirate council and the state at large, ” he said.
The Santali Lafia, who described the emirate of Lafia as peace promoter called on stakeholders and other people of the area to continue to pray and support the emir to succeed.
The Nasarawa business man also assured the people of the state of his continued determination to key into good policies and infrastructure programmes that would improve on the lives of the people of the state.
Besides, Yakubu Umaru also called on the people of the state to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations for development to thrive.
He added that no nation or society would achieve meaningful progress without peace, hence the need of his call in that direction.
” I want to use this medium to call on the people of the state and Nigeria to continue to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their differences in the interest of development, ” he added.
It would be recalled that the Emir of Lafia, Rtd Justice Sidi Bage on 1st August, 2020 turbaned Mallam Gambo Yakubu Umaru as Santali Lafia.
