Traditional Rulers Commend Governor Yahaya For Timely Provision Of Fertilizer

The Mai Kaltungo Engineer Saleh Mohammed and the Emir of Akko, Alhaji Muhammad Umar Atiku have expressed appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for ensuring timely provision of fertilizer to farmers at their doorsteps.

The mornachs gave the commendation when they granted audience to separately to members of the committee on sales and distribution of fertilizer, led by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Hon. Mohammed Magaji at their respective palaces in Kaltungo and Kumo ahead of the commencement of distribution of the commodity in Kaltungo and Akko Local Government Areas respectively.

The royal fathers commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his untiring efforts towards ensuring that farmers in the State are supplied with high quality fertilizer at an affordable price.

Speaking at his palace, the Mai Kaltungo said Governor Yahaya’s disposition towards farmers is one that gladdens the heart, noting that Agriculture sector has never had it this good. He said the early provision of fertilizer will help boost food production and improve the social and economic activities of the people.

On his part, the Emir of Akko hailed the present administration’s
commitment towards revamping the agric sector, describing the timely distribution of farm inputs to farmers as the Governor’s goodwill towards boosting food production in the State.

Chairman of the fertilizer distribution in Akko Local Government Area, Alhaji Dalladi Adamu, who is also the state Commissioner of Lands and Survey said his committee will ensure that the product gets to the intended beneficiaries.

The committee also visited the farm houses in both Kaltungo and kumo to kick start the fertilizer distribution process where each polling unit will be allocated fifty bags of the commodity which is to be sold at subsidised price of 5000 per bag.

The State Committee on fertilizer distribution also visited Billiri and Shongom Local Government Areas where they performed same exercise.
