Senators Lawan, Goje, Ali Isa Donate To Constituencies

A former Senate president, Sen. Ahmed Lawan, Senator Danjuma Goje and the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Dr Ali Isa JC, have donated various items to their constituencies.
In Yobe North senatorial district, Senator Lawan distributed farm machinery and other entrepreneurship materials to 6,766 members of his constituency.
The empowerment includes 36 tractors, 13 rice mills, 10 rice planters, 302 harvesters and 2000 sprayers, 60 cars and 250 motorcycles among others.
Speaking at the distribution exercise in Gashua, the headquarters of Bade LGA in the state, Lawan noted that empowerment creates jobs and promotes self-sufficiency.
In his remarks, Governor Mai Mala Buni said Lawan’s empowerment initiative was in tandem with the various policies and programmes of the state government.
Similarly, Senator Goje at the weekend flagged off the distribution of 7,690 bags of fertilizer to farmers in his constituency.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Goje, representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, said the beneficiaries included stakeholders at zonal, local governments, wards and 869 political units, women and youth groups, as well as dry season farmers across Akko and Yamaltu/Deba LGAs of the Gombe central zone.
Represented by his aide, Alhaji Abubakar Adamu, the senator said each of the stakeholders from the two LGAs would receive eight bags.
He added that each stakeholder from the 22 political wards would get four bags each and each committee member from the 869 units of the two LGAs would receive a bag each.
Meanwhile, the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Dr Ali Isa JC, has presented over 7,000 bags of rice and six cows to all the 20 wards and religious organizations in his constituency for the celebration of the Christmas and New Year.
Presenting the items to various ward heads of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Billiri, Cham and Talesse in Gombe State, Dr JC, while wishing the people Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, said the gesture was to augment what the people had for the celebration of the Christmas and New Year, considering the economic hardships being experienced in the country.
