Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau has donated 100 different brands of cars to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Bauchi South senatorial district who in 2019 facilitated his victory at the polls for the Senate job.
The cars were freely donated to the APC adherents in the seven Local Government Areas of Bauchi, Toro, Alkaleri, Kirfi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro who were said to have pushed the Gumau train during the electioneering campaigns.
The Senator was however represented at the occasion marking the donation of the cars by a former House of Representative member, Hon. Yusuf Nuhu who said the gesture was in recognition of the APC members’ immense contributions to Gumau success in the last elections.
Hon. Nuhu recalled that Senator Gumau had in the last 41 days distributed a number of 27 buses to various religious organizations which included Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Other groups that benefited from the Senator Gumau gesture are Jama’atul Bid’ a Wa-ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) and Tariqatul Tijjaniyya and Tariqatul Gadiriyya in the state, among others.
Responding, the representatives of the religious groups, Mallam Isma’il Katsinawa and Reverend Khjajah expressed appreciation to the Senator, saying it was an honour to them.
