SDGs In Bauchi Completes 2018 Past Admin Abandoned Projects

A Three-year strategic plan of action on how to achieve the 17 goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bauchi state was the product of stakeholders’ meeting and training organized by the agency under the leadership of Hon. Maryam Garba Bagel

A statement by the agency’s information officer, Sani Mu’azu Ilelah in Bauchi Friday, enumerated the various achievements recorded by the agency following the strategic plan under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed in the state.

It attributed the successful execution of development projects under the agency to the approval and released of counterpart funding of N250 million by Governor Bala Mohammed for the completion of 2018 SDGs/CGS project in 13 LGAs of the state.

Part of the plan execution, according to the statement, included tour of 13 LGAs of the state where SDGs projects are being carried out that accessed work done by contractors handling the projects to ensure strict specification compliance.

The statement explained that the projects undertaken in thev13 LGAs included the construction of new Primary Healthcare Centers, renovation of some primary schools, as well as the provision of some facilities such as desks for pupils.

Others, it stated, are the rehabilitation of bore holes, supply of hospital equipment to some Primary Healthcare Centres, fencing of PHC and the approval by Governor Bala Mohammed for the distribution of six fully equipped Ambulances to various Primary Health Care Centers in some LGAs in order to ease the movement of emergency patient to general hospital on referral.
