In alignment with Rotary International’s Area of Focus on maternal and child health, the Rotary Club of Bompai, District 9125, embarked on a heartwarming mission on September 16th, 2023.
The club visited the MCH Clinic on Middle Road, Sabon-Gari, Kano, in Kano State, extending vital support to 50 expectant mothers in the form of diapers, and toiletries.
The service project director, Rotarian Bamaiyi Asegieme led the Rotary Club’s delegation and was joined by numerous enthusiastic members who came out in strong solidarity. Rotarian Asegieme, addressing the beneficiaries, emphasized the paramount importance of maternal and child care within Rotary International’s global mission. He underscored the thoughtful selection of the MCH Clinic in Sabon-Gari, Kano, as a testament to Rotary’s unwavering commitment to touching the lives of expectant mothers and reinforcing the message that Rotary International cares deeply about their well-being.
President of the Rotary Club of Bompai, Rotarian Onimisi Hamza Ohere, added his perspective, saying, “Childbirth is one of the greatest miracles of life, but it doesn’t receive proper accolades because it is now considered as normal.” He urged expectant mothers to prioritize their health, emphasizing their crucial role in nurturing the future generation.
Arc. Sagab Sani Ahmed, the District Governor of Rotary District 9125, lauded the nurses and staff members of the hospital for their commendable resilience, hard work, and dedication to the cause of maternal and childcare.
The expectant mothers, overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, showered the Rotary Club with accolades, commendations, and heartfelt prayers. They called upon other organisations to take inspiration from Rotary’s compassionate efforts and positively impact the lives of those within their communities.
