The Director-General/CEO NILEST, Prof. M.K. Yakubu FPIN, IION today led a detachment of his management board members on a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe.
Stating the purpose of the visit, the DG, on behalf of his entourage, expressed profound gratitude to the Gorvernor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the deputy governor,and the good people of the state for the hospitality extended to the NILEST team during the initial opening of talk on the establishment of the cluster last year He, however, informed the host that visiting the state this time was aimed at finalising the agreement so established
In his response, the Deputy Governor thanked the DG and his team for visiting the state to finalize the MoU, establishing the NILEST cluster in Doma, Nasarawa State. According to him, the DG’s commitment to replicating NILEST across the country is commendable. Dr. Akabe further informed the DG that the Emir of Doma has been urging the government to expedite action on the commencement of the centre, and the state is committed and ready for the centre to commence activities before the end of the second quarter of 2024.
A review of the memorandum signed in 2023 was revisited to accommodate the deverse opinions of both parties. Present at the meeting was the state Honourable Commissioner of Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Permanent Secretary, and the Director of Innovation of the Ministry.”
