Police Launches Digital Vehicle Registration Centre In Kebbi

Kebbi state police command have launches a digitalized central motor vehicle registration office(CMR) to combat vehicle related crimes.

The new development for registration of vehicles was contained in a press release signed by the command PPRO SP Nafi’u Abubakar and made it available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

The statement read” In line with the initiative of the 22nd Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D to enhance internal security in Nigeria, the Kebbi State Police Command have comply with the directives by launching the Digitalized Central Motor Registry (CMR) Office at the State Command’s Headquarters, Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi.

The Digitalized Central Motor Registry (CMR) is intended to tackle vehicle related crimes with a view to enhancing public safety and security of the good people of Kebbi State.

The release further said considering the rising sophistication of vehicular crimes, the Nigeria Police Force revitalized the Central Motor Registry by digitalizing it to maintain a single source of motor vehicle information to conform with the realities of digital age policing in grappling with vehicular crimes across the Federation.

However, the registration office brings about numerous advantages and benefits, of which includes; enhanced Security. With a digitalized CMR in place, citizens can have greater confidence in the security of their vehicles.

Also accurate vehicle information will assist in the prevention and swift resolution of vehicular crimes, with a view to ensuring that, citizens’ assets are safeguarded.

Equally, the Police will be better equipped to enforce laws related to motor vehicles, such as registration and licensing. This will lead to safer roads and improved traffic’s management that will benefit all road users.

Adding that comprehensive database of motor vehicles will serve as a deterrent to potential criminals who might use vehicles for illegal activities. The knowledge that law enforcement has access to accurate information can discourage criminal behavior.

Therefore, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State command, CP Chris Aimionowane, psc, mnips urges the peace loving people in State to embrace the IGP’s transformative initiative by enrolling their vehicles in the Digitalized Central Motor Registry (CMR), with a view to contribute collectively in enhancing internal security and ensuring a safer environment for all.
