Prof. Yohana Izam, Vice-Chancellor, Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has expressed deep shock over the demise of Prof. Habu Galadima, Director-General, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos.

In a statement signed by the University’s Public Relation Officer (PRO), Mr John Agam, and made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, Izam described Galadima’s death as “a rude shock and devastating blow” to the academic circle.

Prof. Galadima died on Sunday after a brief illness as announced by retired Brig.-Gen. C. F.J. Udaya, Secretary/Director of Administration, NIPSS, Kuru.

“The NIPSS director-general’s death came at a time when the country most needed his scholarship and industry.

“Prof. Galadima was a true comrade-at-arms and a rallying point for Nigeria and particularly middle belt scholars, ” he said.

He recalled that only recently, Prof. Galadima had accepted to be the 3rd, 4th & 5th Combined Convocation Guest Lecturer of PLASU to share his wealth of experience on the role of education in nation building.

While condoling the immediate family, NIPSS community and the entire nation over the irreplaceable loss, Izam prayed God for the repose of his soul. (NAN)
