NSCDC International Day: Gov. Idris Assures Of Sustained Support To NSCDC

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi, has assured the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) of continuous support and synergy for the promotion of peace and security in the state.

Gov. Nasir Idris gave the assurance at the international civil defence day and passing out parade of the 2023 recruits in Birnin Kebbi.

“I assure you of sustained support and partnership with the NSCDC for effective performance of its operations as well as other security agencies,” he said.

Dr. Nasir represented by Secretary to the state Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, commended the corps for its contribution to securing lives and properties of people in the state.

“I am impressed by the professional handling of fire arms by personnel of the corps, especially mantling and dismantling of the arms in few seconds’ exercise,” he said.

The governor congratulated the corps on international civil defence day and passing out parade of the recruits, saying that the government had placed premium of security matters in the state.

While speech, the Commandant of the NSCDC in the state, Kabir Abubakar-Alkamawa, explained that the Federal Government under the present administration successfully recruited over 6,500 Nigerians across the country.

According to him, 71 out the recruited personnel have been allotted to the state who have passed out in the occasion.

He said that the recruits had undergone six months rigorous training which included physical and theoretical lectures of basic arms training prerequisite on their legitimate duties.

“During this period, I am pleased to inform you that we did not record any causality.

” They endured the rigors of the training with sense of commitment, dedication and readiness to serve their state and father land.

“Today as we look forward to integrating them into the system as they have been scheduled to also undergo more training in our various training schools across the country in tandem with modern techniques and realities,” he said.

Abubakar-Alkamawa thanked Gov. Idris for the support and generosity the state government had been rendering to the command.

” I want to also seize this opportunity to urge you that the manpower is till inadequate and as such more efforts should be done to help increase the number in subsequent recruitment for our teeming citizens, ” the commander said.
