NSCDC Arrests 85-year-old Suspected Kidnapper In Kano

An 85-year-old Kano resident has been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for abducting a three-year-child from his neighbourhood.
The spokesperson of the corps in Kano, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, in a statement, said the suspect Ibrahim Usman, was arrested at Yar’Adua Quarters, Rimin Kebe, Ungoggo local government area by operatives of the NSCDC Ungoggo Division.
He said, “The 85-year-old suspect, Ibrahim Usman, abducted the victim, a three-year-old boy who is a child in the neighbourhood and attempted to hide him in his friend’s residence situated at Hotoro bye-pass in Kano State.
“Having suspected a foul play, his friend refused to keep the boy in his custody and alerted the residents where the suspect live at Rimin Kebe who had been looking for the missing boy. This development led the suspect to run away and he was later picked up by personnel of the corps in Ungoggo division.
“Worthy of note is that the suspect had last two months collected the victim father’s phone number but never called him for once,” he said.
Abdullahi also noted that they have launched investigation into the case and upon conclusion, the suspect will be charged to court.
