President Bola Tinubu has assured that Nigeria is in good hands, saying his team is working assiduously to revamp the nation’s economy and offer opportunities to Nigerians.
Tinubu stated this yesterday at the Lagos State House in Marina, when he was hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The president, who described the job as ‘monumental’, said the task is not a one-man job, but a collective effort, urging state and local governments to join hands with him by focusing on agriculture and education to fight poverty and terrorism.
The president who also mourned the late Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, as well as former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba described power as transient, adding that, ‘Only God can give and take power’.
Tinunu at the reception attended by traditional rulers, members of the National Assembly from the state, House of Assembly members, local government chairmen , among other critical stakeholders said: “It’s a great homecoming for me and I am happy. This presidency is not a one man job, it is a collective team, you have to be able to listen, decipher, tolerate and sometimes what you don’t expect will happen, just as Akeredolu and Na’Abba’s matter came up as I was preparing today.
‘’ However, we see the value of life in the goodness we do, the result of which is a multiplier of all good things that we must cherish, not for us, but for our children and grand-children.
“Nigeria is challenged, which has always been, but we will go through it. We already see that the plans are blossoming. A lot of changes that will transform this economy and financial re-engineering of our country is ongoing, but my team is working and we are determined to take Nigeria through the tunnel of hope, stability and successful economic prosperity.
“Nigeria is in good hands and my team is working. We have to take baby steps so we don’t break bones or get bruises, but I am sure the results will manifest for the goodness of our country.
Earlier, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu eulogised the president, saying, ‘’You as a governor of the state remodeled, rebuilt and recreated the entire edifice that is hosting you today. You have come here once again as a President of the federal republic of Nigeria.
‘’This afternoon, we want to thank you for your leadership for the origin of modern Lagos that you created and started for us. More importantly you accepted to go represent Lagos at the federal seat because you have continued to make the state proud as a son of the state and we are indeed happy.’’
