Ndume Sustainable Farming Initiative Receives Boost Ahead Of Raining Season

As the raining season approaches, farmers under the Ndume Sustainable Farming initiative have reason to rejoice as Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno south injects a significant financial boost of N10m into the program.

The initiative, which has already seen success during the dry season, continues to garner support and momentum, particularly as the lawmaker encouraged by the women inclusion in the project as well as commitments of the members as a whole.

The programme led by Hajia Maryam Ali Ndume, the wife of the lawmaker and the driving force behind the Ndume Sustainable Farming initiative, the recent announcement of the additional funding is a proof to the commitment of the lawmaker.

The ten million naira injection is earmarked for various farming activities, including land preparation, leasing, and other essential needs as farmers gear up for the upcoming season.

What sets the Ndume Sustainable Farming initiative apart is its comprehensive approach, reaching farmers across all nine local government areas of Borno south.

From its humble beginnings in seven local governments, the initiative has expanded its reach to ensure that no farmer is left behind, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity and equitable distribution of resources.

Senator Ndume’s support doesn’t stop at financial contributions; he has also pledged to purchase crops produced by beneficiaries of the initiative, providing a steady market for their products and ensuring economic sustainability for the farmers.

Moreover, the recent donation of forty-three water pumps to farmers originally from Pulka pursuing farming in remote areas like Baga in the Kukawa local government area emphasizes the initiative’s dedication to overcoming logistical challenges and empowering farmers.

The amount injected into the Ndume Sustainable Farming initiative signals a promising future for agriculture in southern Borno. With continued support and collaboration, this initiative has the potential to transform the lives of farmers and contribute to the overall prosperity of the zone and the state.
