Nasarawa Speaker Tasks Couples On 3 Core Values

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, has advised newly married couples to adopt three core values to make their matrimony tick and enviable.

Abdullahi enjoined couples to show understanding, patience and love in order to build a peaceful and successful home.

The speaker gave the task at the traditional wedding of Mr AKaa Lyambee, one of his security details, and Josephine Maichibi, in Wasa Station, Sanga Local  Government Area of Kaduna State on Saturday.

Abdullahi, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Aboky Suleiman, reminded them said that no marriage would be successful without the values of tolerance, patience, understanding and love, among other good attributes.

“I am happy to be here as he who takes good wife takes good thing.

“The most important travel for one to do is when you travel to look for a partner, that is when you look for a husband or a wife.

“I want to advise Mr Akaa and his beautiful wife, Josephine, to show understanding, tolerance, patience and love, among other good attributes.

“These are the basis for any peaceful and successful married life,” he said.

While congratulating the new couple, the speaker wished them happy and blessed married life.

Mr Saleh Bature, the representative of the bride’s family, said the family has recieved N65,000 as bride price apart from other items paid as tradition demand.

Mr Akaa Stephen, representative of the groom’s family, also confirmed the payment of N65,000 to the family of the bride aside other items paid.

Other dignitaries, who spoke at the event urged the couple not to allow third party interference in their family affairs.

Responding, the bride and the groom thanked God for making their dream become a reality.

The couple appreciated the speaker and other guests for gracing the occasion and and prayed God to grant them journey mercies to their various destinations.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the wedding had in attendance Alhaji Alkali Haruna, Director of Finance and Accounts, Nasarawa State House of Assembly; Hajiya Hadiza Bako, Director of Administration and Supplies of the assembly.

Others were Alhaji Mohammed Usman, Special Adviser to the Speaker of the state legislature on Political Matters; and Mr Alhassan Salihu, Personal Assistant to the speaker, among other staff of the assembly, friends and other well wishers.

NAN also reports that the bride and groom were ushered in alongside dignitaries, police, friends and family members, among others, as they all dance at different stages of the colourful traditional wedding.
