Katsina State Sets Up Minimum Wage Committee

 Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has sworn in Alhaji Muhammed Kabir Dankaura as   his Special Adviser on Banking and Finance just as he inaugurated a high powered negotiating committee on the new minimum wage implementation under the leadership of the secretary to the  state government, Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa.
Speaking shortly after the swearing in ceremony of the new Special adviser and Minimum wage committee, Governor Bello Masari enjoined them to discharge their duties in accordance with the  rule of the law for the benefit of the people in the state.
 He charged  members of the  committee to submit their report in the next three weeks.
“You are expected to make  recommendations in accordance with the resources available in the state and cognisance must be made to the fact that the total workforce in the state and local governments including political office holders are not more than 100,000 against the over seven and a half (7.5) million people in the state,” Governor Masari emphasized.
He urged the committee to coopt more people and visit states across the country that have already completed payment of the new minimum wage to design that of Katsina State.
Members of the  committee include, the chief of staff, Alhaji Muktari Lawal, head of the state civil service, Alhaji Alhaji Idris Tune,  a member of the State House of Assembly,  the special adviser on labour, the special adviser on human resources, the chairman of the local government service commission,  the state auditor general, the local government auditor general, accountant general of the state and chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Malam Buhari Mamman Daura among others.
In his acceptance speech, chairman of the committee and secretary to the government of the state, Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa assured that they would discharge their duties accordingly.
