Kano State Government has commended the residents especially parents, for the impressive turnout of children in the 44 local government areas of the state for the 2019 immunisation against meningitis.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Ibrahim Tsanyawa, made the commendation on Tuesday in Kano while giving an update of the exercice. Tsanyawa told the Newsmen that 3.8 million children between the ages of one and seven had been targeted for the immunisation.
The commissioner commended the primary health coordinator for Kabo Local Government Area in particular for reaching out to the targeted children in the area.
“The present administration will remain committed to provision of quality health care in all health institutions across the state,” he said.
He stressed the need for the public to compliment the efforts of government towards children’s health care by taking them for routine and other types of immunisation. The state government flagged off this year’s immunisation against meningitis in the 44 local government areas of the state on Dec. 8.
