Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has expressed optimism that emerging global Consensus will be in favour of Palestine as the global community intensify effort to halt the fight between Palestine and Israel that generates unrest.
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi made this known, Thursday, while receiving the Palestine Ambassador to Nigeria who called on him at Government house, Kano.
The Governor in a statement made available to the press by the Director Public Enlightenment, Government House, Kano, Malam Aliyu Yusif said, with the level of increasing awareness on the Israel occupation of Palestine,and the huge loss of lives and property, the world Community must rise against the in humane treatment meted to Palestine by Israel in occupying it’s( Palestine) land, killing hundreds of thousands of its people and destruction of properties.
Earlier speaking, the Palestine Ambassador to Nigeria, Abdallah Abu Shawish said Israel is making effort to forcefully usurp Palestine land given to it by the United Kingdom in 1917 and the war was not against Hamas rather against all Palestinians among whom there are Christians.
Abdallah Abu Shawish added that Palestinians are not terrorists but fighting against Israel’s occupation of their land legally owned and resisting humanitarian injustice and maltreatment by Israel forces to them.
The Executive Secretary of Islamic Forum of Nigeria, Professor Salisu Shéhu, said the Ambassador and his entourage came to Kano to attend a lecture on Palestine- Israel conflict coming up on Saturday 4th November,2023 at Bayero University, Kano Organised by the forum.
