Kano Assembly Sets Tuesday to Screen 20 Commissioner Nominees

Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has submitted a list of 20 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as cabinet members.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulazeez Garba-Gafasa, announced receipt of the letter from the governor at plenary on Monday in Kano.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) observed that the list comprised 12 new appointees with eight out of the 20 nominees that served in the last administration of Ganduje.
Among the nominees that served in the last administration are the former Commissioner of Information, Mr Muhammed Garba, and that of Local Government Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule-Garu.
Others include Messrs Ibrahim Mukhtar, Musa Iliyasu-Kwankwaso, Kabiru Ibrahim-Getso, Shehu Na’Allah-Kura, Mukhtar Ishak-Yakasai and Muhammed Tahir-Adam.
According to the speaker, who presided over the session, other names include Ma’azu Magaji, Nura Muhammad-Dankade, Zahra’u Umar-Muhammad, Aminu Ibrahim-Tsanyawa, Sadiq Aminu-Wali, Muhammad Baffa-Takai and Kabiru Ado-Lakwaya.
Others are Mariya Mahmoud-Bunkure, Ibrahim Ahmad-Karaye, Mahmoud Muhammad-Dansantsi, Muhammad Sanusi-Sa’id and Lawan Abdullahi-Musa, he said.
Garba-Gafasa called on the nominees to appear before the House on Tuesday for the screening, urging them to come only with two persons and not a crowd. (NAN)
