Barely two months after impeachment of Taraba state House of Assembly deputy speaker Danladi Gwampo another crisis is in the offing with moves to impeach key officials including the speaker.
Impeccable sources say that the state  Governor Darius Ishaku had perfected plans to impeach the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Abel Peter Diah.

Multiple sources at the government House  said the governor  mobilized over 200m from the State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB to ‘forcefully impeach the speaker.’
Another source said the Majority Leader in the House of Assembly,  Joseph Albasu Alkinjo has been tipped to replace the speaker.
“The plan to impeach the speaker is being spearheaded by PDP chairman Victor Bala Kona and Senator Joel Ikenya.
“The duo held a meeting at the early hours of today’s (Friday ) at residence of former deputy speaker Danlandi Gwampo where plans were mapped out to forcefully take over the State House of Assembly and impeach the speaker with minority votes.
”At 3am Friday morning, Victor Bala Kona alongside SA Political Abubakar Bawa, Joel Ikenya and a few others left Gwampo’s house to see the governor at his official residence and the sum of 200m was handed over to them to commence the project of impeaching the speaker.
“The governor also approved that Alkinjo be made speaker if the plans succeed,” said different source party to the move.
A lawmaker in the state Assembly allegedly claims that   he was offered N10m by agents of the governor to support the bid to impeach the speaker.
”In fact they are moving about with cash, collating names but they don’t have the majority as I speak with you. Any attempt to impeach the speaker with minority votes will spark violence in the state and i think the governor should avoid this,” lawmaker loyal to the speaker had confided.
When contacted on the move the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on media and publicity,Mr Bala Dan Abu denied  allegation said, “We are in the era of politics, everybody is looking on away to blackmail one person or the order. Some made allegation of a Governor taken money from a certain account and you are taken that to be serious?
“I am just hearing the alleged impeachment from you,” he insisted.
Bala further that he will not make a substantial response until a tangible evidence is  presented to him.
