The President of Zamfara state Chamber Of Commerce And Industry Mines and Agriculture, Alhaji Sani Ibrahim Mai Kanwa has stated that, he is still the President Of the Chamber despite a move by some aggrieved members to remove him.

Mai Kanwa reiterated his stand today, in a chat with newsmen at chambers office in Gusau, saying that those members are only manipulating issues to suits themselves.

He said, the intended Annual General Meeting scheduled to hold in December last year has been suspended by the National Headquarters of the Union, and the suspension letter is sent to us, and also Zamfara state government, security agencies stopped us from holding any meeting

According to him, to his surprise some of his members who are not law abiding citizens went ahead to hold illegal meeting at a secret venue He further urged them to be law abiding and remain peaceful and channel their grievances at the appropriate quarters, if at all they mean well for the union.

“I was surprised when I heard the news of my impeachment, despite the fact that I know our mother Union sent a letter of suspending the AGM meeting, this clearly shows that those who organised that illegal meeting are not praying for good governance.

“But I will not blame them, because they are not happy with the achievement I brought to our members, as I am talking to you I processed a loan of two billion naira from Ja’Iz Bank, which we are working to see that governor Dauda Lawal to pay the interest rate of the loan.

“In the history of Zamfara Chamber Of Commerce, there is no any President who did what I have done, so maybe they are not happy over the matter. I also paved ways for our business men in the state to become dealers in any type of business they are doing,

“We have contacted some foreign companies and promised us that anytime we get ready they will facilitate our business men with whatever they need.
