Gunmen Abduct Assembly Man’s Wife In Jigawa

Gunmen have allegedly kidnapped a housewife in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa, the Police have confirmed. A security source told Newsmen  that the woman is the wife of a Jigawa State Assembly members representing Miga constituency, Haruna Dangyatun.

SP Abdu Jinjiri, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, told NAN that the victim, Hajiya Zahra’u Haruna, was kidnapped by three gunmen on Saturday about 4 a.m. at Dangyatum village.

“Today at about 4 a.m., a housewife named Zahra’u Haruna, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Dangyatum village in Miga local government area.

“Three unknown men came to the residence of victim with dane guns and cutlasses and took her to unknown destination.

“But the police are already giving the suspects a hot chase,” Jinjiri said.

The Benue Police Command on Sunday confirmed the assassination of Patrick Kumbul, head of ICT, Radio Nigeria Harvest FM Makurdi, and one Shongo Wuester by unknown gunmen in Makurdi.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Sewuese Anene, confirmed the incident to Newsmen in Makurdi that the victims were killed on Saturday night.

Mr Anene said the bodies of the victims, who were killed along Amokachi Lane, Low Level Makurdi, were already deposited at the mortuary while the police have commenced full investigation into matter.

The General Manager (GM) of the Radio station, Akange Nyagba, told NAN that he was within the vicinity of the crime and took the body of his slain colleague to the mortuary.

“It is true, I was within the vicinity, five meters away from where the incident took place. We were playing draft with friends very close to where he sat within his neighbourhood but we didn’t know the time he left.
