Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved the release of N 1,795,505,173.08 for the payment of gratuity and death benefits to 745 State ,Local Government, Local Government Education Authority, LGEA as well as contract staff from May,15th to October 15th 2023.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Kebbi State Head of Service, Alhaji Sufyanu Garba Bena and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi
According to the statement, 745 retirees were verified by the Office of the Head of Service through a committee comprising the organised labour and other stakeholders.
The statement further explained that 318 gratuity /death and contract staff beneficiaries payment amounting to N972,710,4 for State retirees.
While for local Government staff gratuity/death benefits to 247 beneficiaries amounted to N427,971,191,33 and the payment for LGEA staff gratuity/death benefits to 180 beneficiaries amounted to N394,823,495.83 making the total sum of N1.795,505,173,08.
The Head of Service, expressed appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris, for his magnanimity towards the welfare of civil servants in the State even with the current economic crunch in the country.
