By way of creating more opportunities of pursuing tertiary education by Kano State indigenes, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has today flagged-off the distribution of free JAMB Forms to 6,500 Secondary Schools students at an event that was held at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
Ina statement made available to newsmen by his Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa quoted the Governor while flagging the distribution saying, ” as we distribute free JAMB forms today to 6,500 Kano State indigenes, let me assure that the gesture is a symbol of our government’s unwavering committement to invest in the future of our children
“We believe that education is a bedrock of development and by empowering our students, our children would have access to quality education, we are laying the foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future for our dear state Kano” stressed Governor Abba
The Governor used the opportunity to elaborate on the feats achieved by his government in developing the education sector in the last ten months that include; re-introduction of foreign scholarship, payment of registration fees to Kano indigenes studying at Bayero University, Kano, re-opening of 21 Skills Acquisition institutes.
Others according to the Governor are; reduction of 50% of registration fees in the state owned tertiary institutions, Cash Conditional Transfer to Support Girls-Child education, settlement of registration fees for NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS to mention but a few.
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf urged all the beneficiary students to make best use of the opportunity and strive for excellence in their academic pursuit saying that the future belongs to those who work tirelessly to turn dreams into realities.
He appreciated the JAMB Register, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the management and Staff of the State Ministry of Education and all other stakeholders who contributed in making the exercise a huge success as it will help in projecting the state in it’s quest to take education to a greater heights in the state.
