Gov. Nasir Lauds Federal Fire Service For Effective Service Delivery In Kebbi

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi state, on Tuesday, lauded the performance of Federal Fire Service for saving lives and property of people arising from fire outbreaks in the state.

He made the commendation while receiving a new modern fire fighting truck deployed by the Controller- General of the the Federal Fire Service, Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Jaji, in Birnin Kebbi.

He said,” I have witnessed the performance of federal fire service for its rapid response to emergency situation worthy of commendation.

” I thank the C-G for finding the state worthy of deploying additional fire truck to complement the existing ones on ground.

“In my term as governor, I have seen how you work professionally to counter the challenges of rising fire incidents in the state, in partnership with Department of the state Fire Service, which has been performing excellently.”

The governor directed the Secretary to the state Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, to hold consultations with the state Controller of the federal fire service and provide monthly financial support to the service to complement running cost of their operations.

Presenting the vehicle to the governor, the state Controller of the federal fire service, DCF, Alaukwu Anosike, explained that the vehicle was a new modern brand that could maneuver in any terrain in the state.

” The fire truck has the capacity of 600 litres of water, 50 litres of form compound and two extinguishers that can break into any house on fire,” he said.

The governor officially commissioned the vehicle, test- drove and made symbolic demonstration with the water hose extinguishing fire.
