Gombe Lawmaker Donates Five Beds To Clinic

A member of Gombe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Mustapha Yakubu, on Monday donated five hospital beds to Family Support Health clinic in Gombe.

Speaking at the presentation of the beds, Yakubu, representing Gombe South constituency, said the donation was based on request by the clinic.

Yakubu said he had earlier visited the clinic to find out their demands for effective service delivery when the management of the facility complained of inadequate number of beds.

“Today, I fulfilled the promise made during my visit to this clinic to see things for myself and this is the beginning,” he said.

He assured that he would do all he could to ensure that the facility is upgraded to standard for effective service delivery to the people.

Yakubu solicited the support and prayers to enable him provide more dividends of democracy in the constituency.

Earlier, Hajiya Saddika Babayo, an official of the clinic, commended the lawmaker for the gesture.

She said the clinic had been in dire need of beds to accommodate more patients before the intervention of the lawmaker.

“We are very happy to have these beds; we had been in need of them for long time to accommodate our patients.

“There was a time that I started looking for even old beds, but I could not find.This is a commendable gesture,” she said.

Babayo said that were plans to expand the clinic’s laboratory and construct two additional offices for staff.

She called on other politicians to emulate the gesture of the lawmaker by providing the needful to the people.
