The emir of Ilorin and chairman, Kwara State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the nation’s leaders, peaceful co-existence and economic growth of the nation.
The monarch said such prayers are needed for fostering prosperity and unity among the entire people of the country.
Sulu-Gambari noted that, “It is the duty of every citizens to always seek God’s guidance for the leaders”
He, however, stressed the need for the nation’s leaders to always endeavour to prioritise the wellbeing of the masses, adding that, “ the display of loyalty to the nation should be upheld seamlessly by both tendencies.”
The emir made the call in a statement signed by his spokesman, Mal. Abdulazeez Arowona, on the occasion of the former’s 84th birthday.
The statement added that Sulu-Gambari used the occasion of his birthday to pray fervently for peace, unity and harmony as well as prosperity for the nation and the entire world.
“With fervent prayers for the nation and her leaders, Nigeria is on the verge of economic recovery, business growth, human capital development and cohesion. We should be more concerned with the things that unite us as a nation rather than dwelling on factors that can cause division and rancour amongst us.
No nation can survive amidst crisis and social vices.
“I urge everyone to see Nigeria as an indivisible entity that must continue to wax stronger in the collective interest of everyone. Nigeria is one of the most blessed nations on earth with numerous gifts that cut across all facets of human endeavours,” the emir said.
