Mr Foluso Ojo, the newly- elected Chairman of ‎Oye Local Government council in Ekiti, on Thursday, assured the people of the council area that he would operate an open governance.

Ojo gave the assurance during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Oye-Ekiti.

He said that his administration would embrace transparency, ‎integrity and accountability, all of which, he said, would bring the expected dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people.

“I want to assure my people in Oye Local Government that I will operate open governance which will cater for their needs.

“I am determined to improve infrastructure by starting with the road networks which will ease the transportation of their farm produce to the market.

“Youths of this council will also be empowered to become employers of labour, instead of relying on white collar jobs,’’ he said.

The chairman added that agriculture was also one of the major areas through which he intended to empower the youth and make them become mechanised farmers.

“I am also planning to set up a social security scheme, especially for the elderly ones who do not have means of livelihood.

“All these agenda and many more are what we intend to achieve during my tenure,’’ Ojo said.

The chairman urged the ‎local government workers to be diligent and hardworking to help his administration deliver on its electioneering promises.
