An Educationist, Mr Solomon Alabi, on Thursday called on governments at all levels to provide special empowerment schemes for graduates of tertiary institutions.
Alabi, proprietor of a nursery/primary school in Ilorin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that empowering graduates would prevent them from roaming the streets, hunting for jobs.
“Governments at all levels should train graduates in entrepreneurial skills acquisition to make them self-dependent and give them financial support to start their own businesses.
“They must be supported morally, physically, and financially to reduce poverty levels,’’ he said.
Alabi urged graduates to be self-motivated and to desist from expecting government to do everything for them.
