In a renewed effort to assist in health care service delivery, the Adamawa Command of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) has finally commissioned its new healthcare facility.

Our correspondent  reports that the health facility was inaugurated by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in Yola, closed to the  DSS headquarters, and  was built by the command  in collaboration with the Adamawa Primary Healthcare Development Agency.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony , Fintiri thanked the service for its effort in building the centre as he called on other establishments in the state to emulate the DSS to improve the standard of healthcare provision, living condition and the socioeconomic growth of the state.

The governor pledged  to support the new health care facility, saying  that very soon his administration would embark on massive recruitment of competent and qualified health personnel to man the health services across the state.

The Director of the DSS in the state, Mr Bola Olori, said that the facility was started in 2017 as part of corporate social responsibility of the command to her staff and neighbouring community.

Dr Batulu Muhammad, Chairperson Adamawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, called on the state government to employ more hand into the health sectors.

Muhammad said that primary healthcare centres were suffering from the acute shortage of staff across the state.

The facility would provide consultancy, laboratory and pharmaceutical services as well as maternity and family planning.
