Deputy Speaker Kalu Celebrates Aliko Dangote At 67

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has felicitated the chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on the occasion of his 67th birthday anniversary.
The Deputy Speaker, in a statement issued by his special assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, on Wednesday, described the global business mogul as an African Jewel, lauding his contributions to the economic well-being of Nigeria, and by extension the continent of Africa.
Kalu also lauded Dangote’s commitment to job creation, employments as well as his inspiration and mentorship of young Nigerians.
Congratulating Dangote, on retaining his position as the richest person in Africa in the 2024 Forbes list of 20 of Africa’s Richest billionaires, the Deputy Speaker said that this is a testament of his hardwork, diligence and perseverance.
Kalu, who noted Dangote’s patriotism and kind heartedness, also recalled his contributions during the unveiling of Peace In South-East Project (PISE-P) in December, 2023.
He wished the super entrepreneur a long, healthy life and a joyful year ahead.
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command from Bode Thomas Division have rescued two suspected thieves from an angry mob.
The State Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed this in a post on his X handle on Wednesday.
Hundeyin said the suspects and others at large, robbed a woman of her expensive phone leading to the anger of the mob.
According to him, “While a passerby was making a phone call at about 11 pm, five young men in a tricycle accosted her and robbed her of her expensive phone.
“She quickly raised the alarm, prompting people around to go after the men. Three escaped while two were apprehended.
“Officers of Bode Thomas Division got wind of this and raced to the scene. They arrived quickly enough to rescue Kehinde Olayinka ‘m’ aged 22 and Junior Olanrewaju ‘m’ aged 21 from an angry mob.
He added, “Investigation is ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.”
