Cleric Urges State Governors To Use NGOs In Distributions Of Palliatives

A Kano based Islamic cleric and commentator on current affairs in the country, Shekih Muhajjadina Sani Kano, has advocate for the need for state government to utilized the services of recognized and reliable Non-Governmental Originations in the on-going distributions of palliatives to citizens meant to cautious the effect of the removal of the fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.

He stated this in an interaction with journalists in Kano on the backdrop of the 5 billion each the Federal government gave out to state governments to caution the effect the subsidy removal on the populace.

He added that it is imperative to use the NGO since they are much closer to the people and have over the years become vanguard of the people in terms of support and palliatives distributions. He explains that using the non-governmental organizations will ensure transparency and the process which will also make the palliatives goes round and reach many more needy individuals.

Shekih Muhajjadina Sani Kano who recently launched a humanitarian foundation “Sheikh Muhajjadina Humanitarian Foundation” with the sole aimed of reaching out to the needy in society. “We are planning to expand our humanitarian activities to some parts of the Northern Nigeria where the poverty level is so high, government should make sure the palliatives reach the most vulnerable in the society as the poverty is really biting very hard,’’ he emphasized.
