Pastor Matthew Ishaku, the associate pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), in Kuje,  Abuja , has urged Christians to have hope in Christ for divine fulfillment and everlasting freedom.

Ishaku, who gave the admonition  at a Sunday sermon entitled: “Man’s freedom from boundage” in Kuje, called on Christians to bear good fruits and to fulfil the purpose of existence on earth.

He said for Christians to be free from the boundage of sin, they should seek first the kingdom of God and should emulate the godly characteristics of Jesus Christ,  while on earth.

According to him, distraction has been the major hindrance for gaining access to devine freedom.

He urged Christians to  fulfil their purpose on earth through service to God and mankind.

The cleric also enjoined the congregation to give willingly for the progress and development of the Church.

Ishaku, reading from the book of John chapter 8, verse 30 to 32,  revealed how Apostle Paul narated how Christ told the Jews to follow his steps and know the truth to gain everlasting freedom.

“As he spake these words, many believed on him.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” he said.

Ishaku, however, called on all Nigerians, irrespective of their socio- cultural and ethno-religious differences, to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, tolerance and forgiveness in order to move the nation forward.

On nation building, the cleric tasked Christians to love, care for the needy and also to pray for peace in the country. (NAN)www.nannews.ng
