CHSR Mourns Ex-Gov. Olurin

The Centre for Human and Socio-Economic Rights (CHSR) , has expressed sadness over the death of a former military governor of Oyo State, retired  Brig.- Gen. Adetunji Olurin.
The CHSR National President, Mr Alex Omotehinse, expressed his condolences in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Saturday.
NAN recalls that the retired Brig.-Gen,  aged 76, died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital,  on Friday, after a brief illness.
Omotehinse said the country had once again, lost a committed former military officer who played his role during the military era.
“He played his role diligently during the military era and even during this civilian regime.
“I really want to condole with the Olurin family, the good people of Ogun, Oyo state  and Ekiti,  for the loss of a gallant military officer,” he said.
The activist said the country would continue to remember him for his meritorious service to the nation.
Omotehinse prayed that God would forgive his shortcomings and grant his family members fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
NAN recalls that in 27 years of service to the Nigerian Army,  Olurin served as the military administrator of Oyo state, the General Officer Commanding,  the 3 armoured division and the ECOMOG field commander in Liberia.
He also served as the sole administrator of Ekiti and was a governorship candidate in the 2011 Ogun gubernatorial election.
The late Olurin was survived by his wife, Mrs Kehinde Olurin, two sons Babatunde and Olumide Olurin, daughter-in-law,  Fehintola Olurin and grandson Demilade Olurin.
