Centre Offers Free Skills Training To 400 Graduates In Malumfashi LGA

No fewer than 400 unemployed youths, including university graduates have completed an 18-months skills training in Malumfashi Local Government Area, Katsina State.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training was offered free of charge to the youths by Malumfashi Entrepreneurship Centre, a community initiative.

Alhaji Shehu Musa-Dankano, the Chief Executive Officer of the centre made this disclosure on Wednesday, in Malumfashi, during the graduation ceremony of the trainees.

He said that the participants were trained on various skills including , tailoring and fashion design, hair dressing and leather works among others.

Musa-Dankano said that majority of the beneficiaries had graduated from various universities and other institutions of higher learning and were unemployed for years.

He added that those trained included  people living with disabilities and others indigent persons.

According to him, the beneficiaries were trained free of charge for 18 months by 12 volunteers.

In his remarks, the Galadiman-Katsina and District Head of Malumfashi, Justice Saddik Abdullahi-Mahuta, commended individuals who contributed toward the successes recorded by the centre.

He urged wealthy individuals in the community to continue to support the centre in its effort  to train more youths to become self-reliant. (NAN)
