Amidst Doctors Srike: Hon. Datti Babawo Launches Free Medical Outreach In Zaria

Over 7,000 are expected to benefit from the five days medical outreach organizes by member representing Sabon Gari Federal constituency, Hon Muhammad Garba Datti Babawo for the treatment of various alignment for people in Sabon Gari constituency and beyond, this was coming when Doctors are on strike nationwide.

The medical outreach was in collaboration with a non-governmental organization, ‘Doctors On The Move’ and National Eye Center Kaduna.

Speaking during the lunch of the free medical outreach in Asibitin Kantoma GRA Zaria, the principal consultant overseeing the medical outreach program, Dr Haruna Kigo explain that in the next five days of the program his team are going to render free OPD drugs, general/gynae operations, cataract operations, ultrasound scans. Lab. tests and giving of free reading glasses to as much as over 7,000 people. He urges the patients and their relatives to strictly observe the Covid-19 protocol as they come for medical attention.

He also thanks the facilitator of the program. Hon. Mohammadu Datti Babawo for making the free medical program a reality, he urges other lawmakers in the country to emulate this noble gesture, especially now that doctors are on strike.

In his speech, Hon. Garba Datti Babawo, says, this is the 5th edition of the free medical outreach and over 40,000 have benefited from the program since its inception and it came at the right time when the doctors are on strike and there is prevalence of malaria and cholera in the local government. “The doctors have agreed to double their efforts so that many people would benefit’ he said.
