An Islamic scholar, Prof. AbdulRazzak Alaro, has called on Muslims to always remember the Almighty Allah and to be grateful to Him in whatever condition they found themselves.

Alaro, while delivering an online Ramadan lecture on Wednesday in Ilorin, said Muslims should always remember to say “Alhamdulilah rabil alamin” (Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds).

According to him, there are many reasons to be grateful, for no matter the condition, there are other people living in worst conditions and are yet grateful.

“No matter your condition, if you think deep, you will have a reason to thank Allah and be grateful for His mercy upon you.

“The person you are looking at as better than you, also has his or her own shortcomings; and at the same time, there are people aiming to be in your position,” he said.

Alaro also advised the faithful to always remember Allah and not wait until His favour is needed.

He said it was stated in the Holy Qur’an that human beings should remember Almighty Allah at all times and that Allah would answer their requests.

“Do not wait till you are in need of something from Almighty Allah before calling on Him; always remember Allah all the time.

“Try and recite the Qur’an daily, even if it is one page per day; try as much as possible to recite the Qur’an calmly and with a good voice

“Always observe the five daily prayers, and at the right time. Do not postpone prayer and do not join two or more prayers together during the evening prayer,” Alaro said.

The scholar said that one way to always remember Almighty Allah was to be grateful to Him at all time, worshipping Him accordingly, but without unnecessary exaggerations.

He said that there was nobody that could praise Allah like Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions, saying they never made noise during the process.

“It is not until we start shouting and making noise, causing discomfort to others, before Almighty Allah will hear us.

“Allah is closer to us than the veins of our neck. It is the sincere mind and good intention of a Muslims that Almighty Allah wants, and He has promised to answer the prayers of a sincere caller,” the scholar said.
