The Ogun State Ministry of Justice on Friday trained court registrars, file and record Officers, as well as the Nigerian Correctional Centres officers in proper collation of inmates’ documentation.

Mr Akingbolahan Adeniran, the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, speaking at the training in Abeokuta, said that proper documentation would promote speedy dispensation of justice.

Adeniran, while addressing the participants, said that endorsement forms, inmates court attendance and other court documents were essential documents and must be handled properly.

Adeniran said that proper documentation would assist in promoting speedy dispensation of justice, protection of society from crime as well as the right and interest of suspects and victims.

The Attorney-General said that the training would enhance officers’ skills on how to generate statistics with ease from data collated and have quick understanding of issues.

He admonished the participants to be modest and civil toward ensuring the safety of information of defendants and inmates.

“The Ministry of Justice has implemented the justice clock, where notification of cases to tackle is given for quick action which will enable it to quickly plan ahead.

“Therefore, no member of the judicial system will be left out in the implementation and modernisation of the system”, Adeniran said.

Speaking on behalf of the other trainees, Mr Sunday Aina, the Court Registrar, said stakeholders in the judicial system would abide by the trend of the reformation.
