Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Mrs Biodun Olujimi, has urged Muslims to pray for Nigeria, especially in the face of COVID-19 challenges.

The senator made the call in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti.

“We have an opportunity to realise our potential as the giant of Africa, and it is my belief that the principles that Ramadan seeks to inculcate in Muslims are important for realising this objective,” she said.

The month of Ramadan is that in which the Qur’an was revealed and which  has been instituted for Muslims to dedicate themselves to God and to the service of humankind.

The senator reminded Muslims that the Ramadan is a month of intense devotion and commitment to the principles of love, sacrifice and dedication to duty.

She encouraged them to join other Muslims across the world to fast in the month, seeking to enhance spiritual growth.

“I urge you all to use this holy month to pray to God to intercede in our dear country, as Nigeria battles with the deadly COVID-19,” Olujimi said.
