Kwara Rural Women To Enjoy N160m Micro Grant

No fewer than 16,000 rural women in Kwara would benefit from a N160 million special grant from the Dangote Foundation to empower them.

Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara and President of Aliko Dangote foundation, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, would launch the disbursement of the micro grants on March 31.

Mr Kayode Oyin-Zubair, the Kwara Chairman, Aliko Dangote Foundation/Kwara State Government Micro Grants for Rural Women, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Ilorin.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the launch would take place at Bode-Saadu, headquarters of Moro Local Hovernment Area of the state.

The selection process, which started in August 2020, went through due diligence with inputs from critical stakeholders at the grassroots level.

A thousand women in each of the local government area would take home one-off micro grant worth N10,000.

This means, N10m would enter the economy of each local council in the state with a total of N160 million circulating in the state during Easter celebration and Ramadan fasting period.

However, the list of beneficiaries would be pasted on the notice boards of  each local government secretariat across the state.

The beneficiaries are also expected to check with their wards and local government beneficiaries selection committees for further details  the statement said. (NAN)
