The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said that a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogora, now representing his Bogoro, Tafawa Balewa and Dass Federal constituency in the House, was no longer it’s member.

This is coming on the wheels of disclaimer by the PDP on which platform he rode to the seat of the speaker and now representing the Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro. Dogara had officially on July 24, 2020 tendered his resignation to the PDP.

In the same vein, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party with Hon. Dogara is now romancing with has similarly disclaimed him with a declaration at a court of competent jurisdiction.

On part of the PDP which is the ruling party in Bauchi state, and Dogara’s home based, the publicity secretary of the party, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari has dispelled old pictures being circulated in social media where Dogara and Governor were snapped together, saying Dogara is no more in the PDP.

Zainbari said in an interview with Journalist in Bauchi, “It is disheartening to see some unscrupulous persons pasting pictures on public buildings depicting the togetherness of Governor Bala Mohammed and former speaker Dogara who won election on PDP platform between 2003 and 2019”.

“As people know our party has its rules and regulations governing it. When you decide to opt out from the party, you write a resignation letter, same as you want to come back into it”.

“it is based on the above that we tend to educate the populace that the pictures on social media they see indicating togetherness of Governor Bala and Dogara is a clandestine move to tell people that Dogara is still a PDP member.

“When Dogara quit the PDP, the party went to court to claim its Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency seat on which Dogara went to the House of Representatives because it belongs to the party which the people voted during the 2019 elections. The party is therefore warning those unscrupulous social media chaps to desist the habit of portraying such pictures before it takes a stern decision”.

Zainabari explained that PDP as a party has done all the needfuls to Hon. Yakubu Dogara including his ascension to the House of Representatives to represent the Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro federal constituency, and therefore wondered the way Dogara is reciprocating such gesture to the party.

The Bauchi PDP Publicity Secretary explained that if Hon. Yakubu intends to back-pedal from the resignation, the party would sit down and critically look into such demand with a view to reaching an amicable solution, stressing however that at the moment, the party doesn’t need him.
