Gov. Bala Lends Support To Bauchi Catholic Diocese

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has requested the Catholics Diocese of Bauchi to submit to the state government proposal for the renovation of it’s Church in the state.

He made the pledge Wednesday when the Catholic Bishop of Bauchi Bishop Hillary Nanman Dachelem paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Bauchi.

The governor explained that he had built and renovated mosques for the Muslims, Churches for ECWA and COCIN, hence Catholic should not be an exception in this infrastructural provision.

He said, “I believe in justice and equity and universality of humanity, and I believe we all came from God and to Him we should all return irrespective of our religious persuasions,”

“God created us in different forms and different places with different faiths, so we have to satisfy the characteristics feature of humanity, that is mutual respect, interrelationship and procrastination across the board so that we can multiply and make God Happy ”.

The governor also expressed delight that both Christians and Muslims complied with COVID- 19 protocols because of what they told their followers Muslims and Christians.

On security, the governor recalled that recently because of the intensification of a joint patrol of security agencies, the government was able to secure the release of all those abducted by the kidnappers.

Speaking earlier, the Catholic Bishop Hilary Nanman said he was delighted that cases of the deadly disease are now minimal in the state, saying the church and the state government relationship in Bauchi is mutually inclusive.

Bishop said, “We have over 200, 000 catholics faithful in the Bauchi and Gombe Dioceses of the with headquarters in Bauchi.

Dachelem disclosed that that the Bauchi Catholic Dioceses has a College of Health and Science Technology awaiting full licence and accreditation, and urged the state government support in this regard.

“We are happy that peace is finally returning to T/Balewa. We believe Bauchi is enjoying relative peace now because you are an ambassador of peace.”

He told that their Church has a peace building unit, called ‘Justice Development and Peace Commission saddled with the responsibility of ensuring peace, promoting justice and postering unity among the adherence of the two major religions, Islam and Christianity achieved through inter religious dialoque.

The Bishop hailed the Governor Bala led administration’s achievements especially in the area of roads construction, education, health and agricultural revolution, among others.
