FRSC Commander Builds 100 Sitting Capacity Hall

The Assistant Corps Commander, Nnamdi Ikeh-Akabogu, FRSC Pankshin Unit Command, has commissioned a 100-sitting capacity lecture hall built and dedicated to the Corps Marshall, Boboye Oyeyemi.

The hall which was commissioned by the Plateau State APC Chairman, Mr Latep Dabang, was meant to house all enlightening and education campaigns on road usage and avoidance of road crash.

Dabang described the initiative and construction of the hall as “apt” and “beneficial” to all and sundry, especially road users.

He commended Ikeh-Akabogu for reducing drastically road crashes within the hinterlands in the Plateau Central Zone within four years of his stewardship in the Pankshin Unit Command.

The Corps Marshall on his part commended the efforts of the unit leader for putting up such a hall and naming it after him.

Oyeyemi, who was represented by ACM Ayobami Omiyale, Jos FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer, described Ikeh-Akabogu as an embodiment of hard work and tasked other officers to emulate him.

He warned against extortion of road users by officers and men of the corps as he said stiffer penalties await perpetrators of such unholy act.

The Corps Marshall also warn vehicle owners against selling their vehicles along with number plates so as not to put themselves in trouble in future.

“Try and ensure that revenue boards assist you in transferring the number plate to the buyer of your vehicle else you may be held responsible for any crime committed long after,” he stated.

Also speaking, Deputy Speaker of Plateau House of Assembly, Mr Shehu Yitmwon, said the commissioned hall would serve as a moral booster to other officers of the corps.

He acknowledged the efforts of the FRSC in saving lives of road users over the years and charged them to continue with the good works to make the roads safe.
